EIC Transition Open

SCOPE & EXPECTED OUTCOMES :

The EIC Transition Open call aims to support projects that bridge the gap between early-stage research results and market-ready innovations. It focuses on maturing promising technologies emerging from previous research projects and preparing them for commercialisation or practical deployment.

Transition Open is designed for projects that already have validated scientific results or proof-of-concept, and now need to move toward technology maturation and application development.

The call is bottom-up, meaning it is open to proposals in any scientific or technological domain, provided they are based on results from eligible prior projects (e.g. EIC Pathfinder, ERC Proof of Concept, or similar EU-funded research).

Projects funded under this call are expected to perform both technological development and market-oriented activities, including:

  1. Technology maturation and validation
  2. Development of use cases and applications
  3. Business and commercialisation preparation

The overall objective is to transform high-potential research results into innovations ready for investment and market deployment, strengthening Europe’s deep-tech innovation pipeline.
