I am currently a postdoctoral student working on Safe AI and I am mostly focused on NLP although I am starting to work on Computer Vision as well.
What motivates you in your daily work as a data expert?
It can be naïve to hear but most of the day I am amazed by what we achieve with a computer and a bit of theory. I am a young researcher, I often learn and discover new mathematical objects that open new opportunities and I find it magical. For example right now I am focusing on Ranking and Kemeny consensus.
What does datacraft bring you?
datacraft allows me to meet data practitioners from various backgrounds (i.e machine learning/data engineer and business analysts). On a personal note, the discussions allow me to check that my research scenarii are not too far from the real scenario. Indeed, in research we too often make strong assumptions that make our work not usable in practical cases. Because datacraft is also about sharing, I am also trying to be active and give as much feedback as I can when the problems fall into my area of expertise (mostly NLP).
